We’re having a party at Mackay Surf Club on Saturday 17 October at 6pm to celebrate three decades of Mackay Conservation Group.
Food will provided, drinks will be available from the bar. It'll be a great night of celebration and catching up with friends old and new.
This is a free event.
Members old and new are invited to come along and hear our tales of determined action to protect our unique part of the world. It hasn’t been easy but the group has withstood it all by having great members who have been willing to take on the campaigns.
Did you know that MCG used to sell bulk goods from the shopfront? Or that we used to hold environmental play sessions for kids in the back of the office?
What about the logging truck that was parked outside the Environment Centre on the day it was opened (pictured left)? Or the Main Roads minister who was given a dead fish as his award for planning to destroy the Barnes Creek mangroves?
There are so many fantastic stories that we can share. Come along to our celebration of the last thirty years of campaigning and help us prepare for the next thirty. It’ll be a great night.
