STAND. PADDLE. SAIL.
Grab your friends. Bring your sail boats, tinnies and kayaks. Join us on the water or land as we create a colourful heart formation to raise awareness about the risk to the Reef from dumping dredge spoil in the World Heritage waters.
Paddle out or stand on solid ground as we gather to represent the strength & support for protecting the Great Barrier Reef.
You can register your participation now or on the day at 9:00am. Dinghies, kayaks, and Stand Up Paddle boards launched at 10am.
Smaller vessels (kayaks, paddle boards, outriggers, and dinghies) will gather across the water to form a heart shape to represent the love Australians have for our precious icon. Larger boats (sail boats, cruisers) will be dressed in banners and will do a ‘pass by’ the heart. People on land will also form a heart shape.
Inspiring speakers, live music, entertainment, BBQ, and information stalls to follow. For more information go to: www.flotillaforthereef.org.au/airlie-beach.html
Together we will send a powerful message that we don’t want the Great Barrier Reef to become a dumping ground.
