Join us for a historic tour of the Pioneer River!
Meet on the banks of the river at Bluewater Quay - near the whalebones sculpture (corner of Sydney St and River St, Mackay). We will stroll along the river to the community gardens enjoying stories about the natural and social history of this magnificent river.
The walk is 3km will take approximately 2 hours (finishing at 12pm). Everyone is invited to stay for a picnic lunch in the community gardens afterwards. (BYO picnic). You may wish to consider car pooling and parking a car near the community gardens if you don't have time to do the walk back to the starting point.
