Come along to the next Beautiful Walk at the Yuibera Yuwi Trail!
Located within the Cape Hillsborough National Park, the Yuibera Yuwi Trail is an easy walk that follows the rocky coast and takes us into the lush rainforest.
The trail is guided with signs which explain how the native plants were used by the Yuibera people, the Traditional Owners of the area. The forest is also home to a diversity of bird species and Cape Hillsborough's iconic wallabies.
Joining us will be guest speakers to talk about how the rich ecology and diversity of the forest and how it is currently being managed.
Directions: The Yuibera Yuwi Trail is 50km from the Mackay CBD and takes about an hour to drive to. The trail can be accessed by following Hidden Valley Road, a gravel road that runs next to the Cape Hillsborough Nature Tourist Park. It is not recommended to take large vehicles or trailers, such as caravans along this road. You can walk or drive the 1.2km to the beginning of the Yuibera Yuwi Trail.
Please wear enclosed shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Please also bring a water bottle, hat, insect repellant and sunscreen.
