Due to insufficient Government resources allocated to the supervision of coal to ensure they are fulfilling their environmental management obligations, Mackay Conservation Group is spearheading a citizen science initiative in the region to gather more, high quality data, on the impacts of coal mining.
Citizen science has many different forms, but ultimately results in tangible data, experiences or evidence that we and our passionate volunteers can use in a variety of actions.
