The UN makes it clear that the burning of coal for power is a major contributor to air pollution. Queensland has several coal-fired power plants and there are talks about building more in North Queensland.
Coal dust and the pollutants from burning coal have been linked to a number of health issues including black lung and respiratory problems.
Our modern society has the knowledge and technology to move away from these polluting energy sources. We have the technology now to move away to cleaner, renewable energy.
Tell the QLD Premiere Annastacia Palaszczuk that we want to keep our air clean and our health safe!
"We urge you to do all in your power to ensure that there will be no more new coal-fired power plants built in Queensland."
