SNAP ACTION to protect the Caley Valley Wetlands
This is an outrage. Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt has just fast-tracked the approval of the world’s biggest coal port in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. Dredge spoil is proposed to be dumped on the precious Caley Valley Wetlands that provide important habitat for thousands of birds and other species.
Despite all of the concerns by UNESCO, reef scientists and the community, dredging for Adani’s proposed new mega coal port at Abbot Point will not even require a full environmental impact Assessement!
Join us at lunchtime this Friday outside George Christensen's office to send a strong message that we won't take this lying down.
