On Tuesday 22nd July Senators from around the country are coming to Mackay to hear from fishers, tourism operators and community members about the current management of the Great Barrier Reef; It's part of a national inquiry into the government's handling of the Reef, including the impacts of dredging and dumping.
Will you join us next Tuesday at the Quest Apartments in Mackay to tell the Senate & show the media that the Mackay community are concerned about the health of the Reef?
Here's the plan: On the day of the Senate Inquiry Hearing there will be a short lunch break at12:30pm for a press conference with Senator Larissa Waters and tourism operators and fishers. We'd love you to be there with colourful signs and shirts demonstrating how much you care for the Great Barrier Reef and want to see it protected.
