The Queensland Government has established the Queensland Renewable Energy Expert Panel to conduct a public inquiry that will guide the development of a renewable energy strategy for Queensland. Following the release of its Issues Paper in May, the panel held a number of community forums and online events, seeking the views of Queenslanders in relation to developing a renewable energy economy for our state.
The panel is due to release their draft report in mid-October. Following the release of the draft report, the panel is now hosting a round of regional forums to share their findings and to seek feedback from the Queensland community and industry. You are invited to attend the Mackay public forum. Everybody is welcome.
This is your chance to help Mackay transition to 100% renewable energy.
The Renewable Energy Expert Panel will be holding a forum in Mackay on Wednesday, October 19, 6:00 pm at the Mackay Grand Suites.
Because the session itself will get straight into the detail of the report, we’re also inviting you to join us at the Mackay Conservation Centre for drinks, nibbles and discussion, from 5:00 pm before the Government forum. This will be a chance to hear some background to the issue and talk about ways to build public support for clean energy in Mackay. The Mackay Conservation Centre is located at 156 Wood Street, Mackay.
It’s about a ten minute walk from the Grand Suites so we’ll finish up just after 5.30 and walk across.
Please join us for one or both events.
