Sea levels are rising - and so are we!
On September 8, we'll join people across the world highlighting the threats of climate change to demand that our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world!
Our region is predicted to face 80cm rise in sea level by the year 2100 which will leave much of East Mackay inundated and large area prone to storm surges - especially with cyclones predicted to increase in intensity. Read more about the predicted impacts to our region here and check out the Map of predicted sea level rise in Mackay 2100 where the light blue is the 2100 tide height and dark blue is the current high tide height >>>
Be part of a creative demonstration and a picnic where we will take the chance to talk local climate impacts.
More details to come but make sure to save the date for this event!
