Join us for a free, family friendly evening celebrating the mangroves of Mackay and the incredible role they play in protecting our coastline, supporting wildlife, and helping keep the Great Barrier Reef healthy.
Enjoy a relaxed night featuring a short talk on why mangroves matter, a nature inspired art exhibition showcasing local artists, family friendly activities, prizes and giveaways, and a series of inspiring films focused on nature, conservation and our local environment.

We're also excited to welcome marine naturalist, author and filmmaker Lawrence Scheele, who will present his documentary Hidden Treasure Magnetic Island and share stories from his recently published book, A Field Guide to the Marine Life of Magnetic Island, Great Barrier Reef.
It's a chance to learn, connect, explore local art, discover the remarkable marine life of the Great Barrier Reef, and spend a great evening together surrounded by people who care about protecting the places we love.
